jayd data operations (pty) ltd operates jayd-data.com and the jayd platform. this policy explains what analytics data we collect, why we collect it, and how you can control it. we comply with the protection of personal information act (popia) and, for eu visitors, the general data protection regulation (gdpr).

we use posthog for product analytics. posthog is a product analytics platform that helps us understand how visitors use our site and platform so we can improve both.

posthog collects:

• page views and navigation paths
• feature usage events on the platform (e.g. which tools are opened, demo usage)
• session metadata (browser type, screen size, country — no ip address stored)
• authenticated user id (platform only — never on marketing pages)

posthog does not collect:

• personally identifiable information without consent
• financial or payment data
• content you input into platform tools

we only initialise posthog analytics after you accept cookies via the consent banner. until you accept, no tracking scripts load and no data is transmitted. this applies to both the marketing site and the platform.

if you decline, no analytics data is collected. you can change your preference at any time by clearing your browser's local storage for jayd-data.com.

analytics events are retained for 12 months. after 12 months, event data is automatically deleted from posthog. user identity records on the platform are retained for the duration of your account and deleted within 30 days of account deletion.

under popia and gdpr you have the right to:

• request access to the data we hold about you
• request correction or deletion of your data
• withdraw consent at any time (clear local storage or contact us)
• lodge a complaint with the information regulator (south africa) or your local data protection authority
